In the aftermath of the flooding from Hurricane Harvey, Houston has demonstrated the epitome of perseverance. With families displaced, businesses submerged, and damages increasing, our greater Houston area community has taken the charge, utilized our various talents, and enabled our great city to remain focused on recovering and helping those in need. Members in our community have embodied the meaning of compassion, volunteerism, and philanthropy exemplary for the nation as a whole; in one short week, Houstonians have revealed an irreducibly clear focus.
As families, businesses, and volunteers continue to assess the damage and begin the steps to rebuild, Cram Crew will focus our own energy and talents on helping the academic community to remain focused and on track. Cram Crew Houston will be adapting our typical in-home tutoring services and will be opening our offices to the community for FREE TUTORING* for the entire month of September. While families are diligently working toward rebuilding homes, while schools are delayed, and while standardized tests are rescheduled, Cram Crew will do our very best to provide a complimentary service to our students so that they can concentrate on their academic priorities during this formative time in their lives. Our goal is to allow the families in our community to rebuild or volunteer while having peace of mind that their students are staying on track. Our goal is to allow students who were preparing for the PSAT, SAT, ISEE, HSPT or ACT as well as any academic courses to have the opportunity to regain their focus and to help them do their very best. Our goal is creating brighter futures, despite the difficulties. For the month of September, we will be offering complimentary services to anyone in the community, not just our clients.
In addition to providing our complimentary office-based services in September, Cram Crew will be providing financial assistance: Cram Crew will be matching employee donations to charities instrumental in Harvey flood relief. Harvey has also sparked Cram Crew to begin a new pilot initiative, Brightening Futures. Still in its initial stages of planning, Cram Crew will be collecting financial contributions from the community to create a scholarship fund for outstanding students impacted by the flooding. If you would like to contribute to this scholarship or would like to nominate a student who has been impacted, please get in touch with Cram Crew.
Perseverance is the continued effort to achieve despite difficulties, failures, or opposition. We hope that our contribution to the community will enable all of us to stay focused on a brighter future.
